In Japan, the best ways to travel are by air, train, subway, bus, ferry, or bicycle. You can rent a car if you absolutely need one, but public transportation is very well developed, timely, and efficient. And no matter how you travel, you don't have to drag your suitcases with you on trains, buses, or subways. If you've been to Japan, you may have noticed how everyone seems to travel light. The secret lies in point-to-point delivery services, such as Yamato, Nittsu, and Sagawa. When you arrive in the country, give your suicases and boxes to one of these companies at the airport, and the next day at a designated time, they'll deliver your bags to your hotel or home.
